Let me just start by saying that after reading all the reviews, I was a little skepticle of this hotel. Some earlier reviews had mentioned bad construction and difficulty in locating...we used GPS, and drove straight to the hotel, it was very easy to find. Its just off the I-410 loop, so we had extremely easy access to everything in SA. We easily checked in early after a long day of traveling. Most of the reveiews mention "Old, dirty, dusty...Keep in mind we did NOT stay in the newer section of the hotel, just a regular 2 room suite;. Yes, the rooms have an older feel to them, but it ties in with the country theme. You get exactly what you pay for at this hotel. We usually stay at more upscale hotels, but got a great deal through Travelocity, and couldn't pass it up. Directly outside our room was the playground, and about 10 feet away was the pool. Yes, there were other children and families, but it was a very calm, welcoming environment. We were able to sit on the porch of our room, and watch our children play every evening...it is a PERFECT HOTEL FOR FAMILIES ON A BUDGET!! Easy access to office, computer, laundry, and nightly drinks. The breakfast was simple, but definately effective! There is also a company that delivers great food if you decided to order in for any meals. If the only thing people are worried about in a review is the dust on their ceiling fan, or not being able to get great WiFi, maybe they should choose a hotel that costs an arm and a leg! Please do not let the reviews steer you away from having a great time with your family at this hotel.

Our organization booked 4 rooms through web. The rooms are what we were expecting, the hotel staff is friendly, The location is good, but there is major road construction going on and the roads were very rough. When the roads are done, it should be very nice. I hope to stay at Hill Country Inn and Suites again if my wife and I visit San Antonio again.

We stayed in the basic suite. Not sure if it was renovated or not but it looked decent. We stayed for three days and 2 nights. The last day, the toilet over flowed due to the floater being very old and cracked.. Also the tile on the floor was not plastered properly and was loose. This was a minor problem but nothing we couldnt get threw. The hotel is otherwise ok. For the price, you can't beat it. I would stay there again. Very helpful staff - But hotel gets crowed in the summertime. Not in the best side of town but security was more then adequate. Gets the job done but if your looking for super nice, look elsewhere..

Nice pool and playground, pleasant staff, grimy room with ripped couch, dirty walls, appliances that didn't work properly. Definitely not a $* room. Undergoing renovation; definitely wait until the renovation is complete. Difficult to get to when travelling east on 410 due to construction, otherwise ok.
